A place for faith.

Christians of every denomination gathered at Churches throughout Cicero to observe the events of Easter and Holy Week.

Catholics participated in the Holy Triduum a series of observances on Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday.

Holy Thursday commemorates the last supper and the institution of the priesthood. Good Friday recounts the Passion from the Gospel of John, the veneration of the cross and condolences to Mary. On Holy Saturday the Easter Vigil begins at sun down and ends with a pre-dawn mass. This is the first mass of Easter Day.

Members of Cicero Churches held processions through the streets called the Living Way of the Cross to stage dramatic interpretations of the Passion.

Below are photos and links to video of Easter events held this weekend.
